Men overcompensate when masculinity threatened

Men overcompensate when masculinity threatened: "'Masculine overcompensation is the idea that men who are insecure about their masculinity will behave in an extremely masculine way as compensation. I wanted to test this idea and also explore whether overcompensation could help explain some attitudes like support for war and animosity to homosexuals,' "

Hmmm, this was an interesting study. I suppose that this demonstrates that a lot of men are weak minded fools! I would concur with this. I wonder if this overcompensating behavior occurs more frequently in Republican men? When I see a "Support our Troops" magnet it is usually attached to an SUV (These magnets are very popular among Church going Republicans). Today I saw a John Kerry bumper sticker left over from the election. It was attached to a small Hyundai car. I think that this graduate student should have questioned the study participants about political party affiliation.
