The video was interesting, although, I waited nearly an hour for it to download to my computer. Don't worry, I did some other stuff while I was waiting. :) I think that the video makes a good point that if democracy is to develop in the Middle East, it must evolve in the context of the already established cultures in the region. Many old people will resist change, while young people will push for immediate change. I suppose that this is always the way between the young and the old. However, I think that any move toward democracy must be a slow and gradual process if it is to have hope of success. I am very concerned that the U.S. is trying to force Iraq to move too fast, and is meddling too much in Iraq's "democratic" evolution. Nation building by force of external intervention has rarely, if ever, been completely successful. I suspect that Bush and his Neo-Con controllers were very poor students of history! However, I hope, for the sake of Iraq's people, that they can form a stable democracy.
