Saudis Call for Syria Withdrawal From Lebanon (washingtonpost.com)

Saudis Call for Syria Withdrawal From Lebanon (washingtonpost.com): "Assad, in interviews with international media, has given varying estimates for the timing of a withdrawal, from less than two months to at least a year or not until Mideast peace is achieved. "

Well, if we are talking about peace in Middle East it seems that's the best way not to reach it. Israel and U.S. blame everything on Syria and Syria waits for them to achieve peace...talking about waste of time.

Aren't we a little biased and one dimensional here? In your news browsing, did you happen to come across the fact the Lebanonies have been protesting almost on a daily basis, blaming Syria for the bombing? Did you happen to read that thousands of Lebononies have been protesting against the 14000 Syrian troops in Lebanon? Did you happen to notice that the Syrian back Lebanonis prime minister quit? Did you happen to read that late Rafik Hariri was himself afraid for his life? Did you happen to read the actual article that all Arab leaders are urging Syria to leave Lebanon?

Check out: Lebanon Mourners Say Are Ready to Protesthttp://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&ncid=736&e=5&u=/ap/20050303/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon

And the other reports of Lebanonies protests since the assassination.

Haven't you noticed of the progress that has been made since Arafat's death? Maybe U.S. and Israel are not the only problems. Do you even know why Syria has maintained its troops in Lebanon since end of the civil war over a decade ago?

Hmm, from your comment I gather that you missed when I talked about Hariri here...or at least covered the news. No I didn't miss any of these happenings that you mentioned but I don't believe them as much as you do. I talked to my lebaniese friend and even he is not sure that Syria killed Hariri. The point of this post was way simpler than you thought...A says that B has to leave so that peace is achievable, B says he won't leave unless A has already achieved peace. I see a loop here. I am not pro Syria but I always suspect sudden changes in ME even if it is a big wave of something that looks like democracy all over the region. Maybe it's just because I am raised in Iran.

The Saudi government is a very different thing from the Saudi people. I wonder what the average Saudi person thinks about Syria and Lebanon?
